Ukraine and Russia Protect Rocket-and-Space Technologies
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 14, 2008 Ukraine and Russia decided to prepare an intergovernmental agreement on measures to protect technologies in the sphere of creation and exploitation of the rocket and space technology, Director General of the National Space Agency Yuriy Alekseyev informed.
The space agencies of the two countries also should coordinate principles of work on the markets of launch services for launch vehicles. The matter concerns the Cyclon-4 project, carried out by Ukraine and Brazil with participation of the Russian companies, which may compete with Russian rockets in a certain segment.
An issue is under elaboration on using space communication means in Yevpatoriya for joint research of the outer space.
The Ukrainian space sphere includes seven design bureaus, scientific-research and design institutes, 12 industrial enterprises and 13 special enterprises and establishments.
