Gomel Becomes CIS Cultural-Historical Heritage Best City
OREANDA-NEWS. April 8, 2008. The international assembly of capitals and big cities has summed up the results of the 1st contest The Best CIS City. Taking part in the contest were 60 cities of the CIS member states. Gomel was recognized best in terms of implementation of innovation technologies and preservation of cultural-historical heritage.
At the final round of the contest held in Moscow Gomel presented the materials about to the municipal economy of the oblast centre including such new approaches as the distant control over the heat supply system, house-duty cost accounting and also technologies in housing construction.
Gomel also presented the information about the state of the species of architecture and economic indicators of the city. In line with the analysis carried out by the Moscow Research Institute, Gomel has left behind other participants in terms of implementation of the innovation technology and preservation of historical-cultural heritage.
